The BEST Keyboard for UNDER $100!?

So I was lowkey in a mood for a new keyboard. I had a Womier WK61 I picked up on eBay that I’ve been enjoying since about October of last year. I swapped out the original keycaps in it with KTT Strawberry Ice V2’s (wanted a slightly thockier sound) and I’ve enjoyed the keyboard since. What got me lowkey thinking was I missed a dedicated FN row and some actual arrow keys (especially when coding.) Well I found a keyboard that not only ticked all my boxes and then some, but it also was WITHIN my budget!

Maybe like 7,8 years ago, finding a customizable for under $100 was unheard of. Especially a keyboard that was not only wired but also Bluetooth and 2.5ghz wireless. Technology since then has advanced to a point where we can produce keyboards at such affordable prices (thank you China.) This has caused a tremendous ripple in the custom keyboard world. Gone are the days of your average consumer not being able to jump right into the keyboard modding hobby.

I know you’re probably wondering “what keyboard is he talking about?” well don’t worry, I’m getting to it. But first, we have to go over how lucky we are to be living with all these options. I mean when I tell you about this keyboard and the features it has for the price point, it’s outrageous. Like I really can’t brag about this keyboard enough (_8()) This keyboard (at least in my opinion) is truly spectacular.

Alright I know I’ve kept y’all waiting enough lol, but I have to build up the mystique. Well the keyboard you’ve all been waiting for is the Epomaker Ajazz AK820 Pro 75% and it truly is a spectacular keyboard. I managed to snag it for $53 shipped with a coupon code luckily (shoutout Honey.) Without a coupon, you can regularly find the AK820 Pro for around $59.99 from Epomaker or $65 on Amazon (I scooped it directly from Epomaker but it shipped from China so it took a couple weeks.)

The AK820 Pro in its glory.

Now lets get down to the good stuff; what really does make this keyboard so special? Well at this price point, not only is the AK820 Pro wired, but it’s also 2.5ghz wireless AND Bluetooth! Incredible! I haven’t tested the battery life (always wired) but the AK820 Pro comes packed with a 4000mAh battery(definitely a good size battery for this keyboard.) It’s actually quite a bit bigger of a battery than a lot of other keyboards come with.

Typing off the bat felt fantastic. Ajazz is quite cool to provide some very nice double shot PBT caps (I wish they were backlight :/). I went with the white and purple colorway over the black case with white, grey, and yellow caps (my PC case is white so I wanted to match a little lol.) The Ajazz Gift switches (5 pin swappable) that also come with the board are insanely nice with a good amount of thock especially for a stock custom keyboard.

Now of course what is a custom keyboard without RGB! Over 1.8 million possible lighting combinations (there is software for the keyboard as well). If you want to quickly change an effect, you have a nice knob (also for volume adjustment) and little TFT screen to cycle through the various effect options as well as brightness, color, and speed of the effect (or even add a GIF.) You also have the added option of an info screen setting that will display the time and date, battery level, wired/wireless mode, caps lock on/off, and if the keyboard is in Mac or Windows mode (super cool you have that option.)

Nice side shot of the AK820 Pro. Notice the Ponke GIF on the TFT screen lol.

I honestly cannot recommend this keyboard enough. For the price and features you receive, it’s ONE of the most insane value custom keyboards out there. It truly is spectacular how tech can advance to the point of such affordable goods. Check it out whenever you can and let me know if you scoop one up!
